Richard Thibault

Trained in law at Université Laval (Quebec City), Richard Thibault quickly specialized in communications, pursuing a career in theatre, radio, and television and developing solid, wide-ranging expertise in the process. After a stint as moderator of debates and public affairs officer at the National Assembly of Québec (1979 to 1987), he served as chief of staff and press secretary for a number of ministers in the Robert Bourassa government. Richard Thibault then added to his communications arsenal by holding a variety of positions at specialized communication firms, such as BDDS. In the early 1990s, he accepted the position of director of communications and public relations with the Québec Nordiques Hockey Club. In 1994, he founded Richard Thibault Communications Inc. (RTCOMM), surrounding himself with a versatile team capable of rising to the most exciting challenges in communications, crisis and business continuity management, and public speaking training. The ‘Media Relations’ workshop is accredited by the Ministère de la Sécurité publique for civil security emergencies. It is also accredited by the Quebec Bar for 7 hours of continued training. His clientele includes companies from a wide range of locations and sectors of activities. Richard Thibault, a recognized crisis management expert in Québec, is certified by the Disaster Recovery Institute International.
